Link Love

Link Love .... a short post linking you to the newest page I created for the blog called (it's an easy guess, I promise!) LINK LOVE.

Original, I know.

Before I created this separate page (top right), I had a side bar on the right hand side of my page, but I realized I wanted more than that.  I follow quite a few great blogs and organizations and I want to be able to share them with my readers!  I will try to update this page as often as possible so that way people can continue to follow new and different sites.

Anyway, blessings to you on this great and sunny Sunday afternoon as spring approaches!

The Truth about my Identity and Buzzfeed Quizzes

It has come to my attention that whatever social media site I end up on, someone appears to be sharing a new Buzzfeed quiz they have taken.

Newsflash: I love Buzzfeed.  It is an absolutely hilarious site, with many laughable stories, and some that are exceptionally touching and make me tear up, and there are an incredible amount of articles with the cutest puppies that make me want to go buy one and smuggle it into my dorm room as soon as possible.

My cousin and I were having a great, intellectual conversation the other day and I realized that maybe I've been doing my college career all wrong.  I took the Strengths Finders test and the Myers Briggs test, but I am beginning to realize I should have just offered to take Buzzfeed's many personality quizzes.  I am even considering adding my results to my LinkedIn Profile to make myself more marketable when I graduate in a year.

First of all, I am a Journalism major, but I clearly I have many talents.  Apparently I could also be a spy and if I were a spy, I would be a computer hacker.  As I can barely type a website in the search box (just kidding - I can do a little more than that!), I think that this may be a little less than accurate, but Buzzfeed has to have more accurate quizzes right?

What Type of Spy are You?

Despite this great news of finding out what spy I am, I believe I'm having an identity crisis.  I never knew how many different types of Disney Princess quizzes there were and I'm starting to panic a little.  I've been told I have red hair (I think that's false - I'm just an extremely odd brunette), but nonetheless I took the Disney ginger quiz (is that okay to name a quiz that?) and it told me I was Merida, which was slightly weird to me me, but only because I've never even seen this movie, but I can roll with it.

Which Disney Ginger are you?

Truthfully, I was okay being Merida ... until I saw there was another Disney Princess quiz which apparently entails all the Disney Princesses!!!  Then, I got told I was Tiana which I'm really cool with because The Princess and The Frog is actually one of my favorite Disney Princess movies.

Which Disney Princess are you?

BUT THEN, Buzzfeed got all deep on me and there is a quiz that tells you the KIND of princess you are and this one said I was a Renaissance Princess, but neither Tiana or Merida are Renaissance Princesses (or maybe they are and I just didn't do my research - which was actually no research - and I just really don't know my Princess eras!) so can anyone see why I'm struggling right now?

What kind of Disney Princess are you?

I started to wonder though if my identity was really all about my princess alias, though, because my mom always said I could be whatever I wanted to be - it only makes sense that I would take a couple other quizzes to decide if being a princess is truly my calling.

I've always loved The Hunger Games (and yes, I do like this trilogy better than the Divergent trilogy - except they also have that random prequel book about Four... whatever... Which "Divergent" Faction are you?) so I thought I could find out what character I would portray.  Not going to lie, I was really hoping to be Katniss, and not even so much for her killer shot or sassy attitude, but she gets to kiss Gale aka Liam Hemsworth.  After taking the quiz though, I find out apparently I AM GALE.  Okay.

I mean, I do have a lovely face though ...
Which "Hunger Games" Character are you?

I may be most confused about the food quizzes.  I can understand trying to match people to movie characters because movie characters have personalities but I have yet to have my wheat toast respond to me in the morning when I ask, "Do you think you are an introvert or extrovert?"  But, based on my lack of response (weird) I'd say wheat toast is introverted.  Nonetheless, I had to figure out this whole food quiz thing ... Which cereal are you?

I would love to be a fly on the wall for all of the cereal interview processes.

There is seriously a quiz called But like, Are You a Cheese? And yes, I took the quiz.  And yes, I'm a cheese BUT THEY DON'T TELL YOU WHAT KIND OF CHEESE YOU ARE!!! How does that help anyone at all?!

For my final self analysis (as I am more confused than ever now) I found a quiz called What's your actual personality type? Now I should be able to settle this matter once and for all.

First of all, I was so distracted by the fact I had never heard of an ambivert that I couldn't focus enough to read the description of what I supposedly am! Once I quit overreacting, I realized that an ambivert is someone who is both an introvert and an extrovert.

My ending conclusion: I don't think I am going to take any more Buzzfeed quizzes.

Except ... I was just kidding because I took these quizzes as well, but I am not going to tell you my results!

Which Lizzie McGuire Character are you?

Which Book should you Date?

Which Marvel Movie Character are you?

Which Jennifer Lawrence character are you?

Which Frozen Character are You?

Hopefully, you have better luck than me. Or maybe yours make more sense ... or by having good common sense, you just don't take any of these quizzes at all!!!

On My Radar

Awesome things are happening around us every single day! How phenomenal is that?! Here are some things that have been "On My Radar" as of this past weekend ....

1) Late Night Restaurants - lets be honest, as a college student, there is not much better than restaurants and coffee shops that are open late at night. The most recent discovery as of Friday night is The Flameburger. Being that it was so late at night, I only ordered hash browns, but I will say they were quite good, there was a nice amount and it was less than $4 ... Absolutely incredible! A little greasy, but I can work with it.  As one of my other friends put it though (and they ordered THE Flameburger), "I hoped it would be a 6.8, after eating it I'm going to give it a 5.2, and after about 10 minutes in the car on the way back home, I'm going to lower my rating to a 4.8." We can't win them all I guess!

2) Arm Knitting - I can't knit or crochet, but I can use my arms so I arm knitted TWO scarves this weekend!!! If I am being completely honest though, my first one still turned out a little sketchy, but my second scarf I am in love with and have worn it every day since Saturday, which is the day I made it. Basically, I'm incredibly proud of myself, all of my friends and family are going to get arm knitted scarves for both birthdays and Christmas over the next year, and I am going to make more scarves this coming weekend!!!

3) Eat More Dessert - My weakness is ICE CREAM! Gosh, it's just lovely and sweet, and is definitely my favorite dessert! I went to Izzy's Ice Cream for the first time this Sunday with some friends and it was just the darn cutest little shop and there were so many beautiful flavors - I got a split single of Irish Moxie and Graham Cracker ice cream and for my "Izzy" (which is a baby scoop of ice cream that they put on top of your cone - AHHHH!) I got Salted Caramel. It was heaven on earth for less than five minutes as I inhaled the deliciousness!

4) March Madness - In my world, it's a holiday, and I love it! Duke is my favorite college team, ever since I was a little girl and Coach K is such a great coach - I want to meet him before I die - so I will always cheer for them, even when they have a great regular season and lose in the first round (crying). I'm originally from Iowa, but I really hate the Hawkeyes and if I am completely honest I don't really like Iowa State (but my boyfriend goes there and they're playing well so I have been cheering for them within the last year and I know one several articles of ISU clothing).  On the other hand, UNI is this great small Division 1 school and I cheer for them! They are having an incredibly fun season and most people have never heard of them - definitely will be cheering for them in the tournament! Bring on Selection Sunday!!!

5) Springtime - Stay calm, spring will come! Yesterday, I wore my floral pants for the first time since summer - and I don't care that I wore a sweater and boots with them and there was still snow on the ground! The sun is shining today and soon all snow will be gone - I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather and being outside.

Wishing everyone the happiest of days today ~ Today is a GREAT day to have a GREAT day!
